I'm sure you would all like to know how it went. Or not. But I'm going to tell you anyway. The first thing I noticed upon arriving at the theater was the excessive number of people there. The theater is NEVER that crowded. After showing our tickets to the usher, he told us to "go way back there, and that's the end of the line." *We said something here* "Yeah, we're planning on fitting 300 people in there." So, my friend and I go to the end of the line of at least 200 people. The line stretched (and curved to accommodate the space) through the entire theater, from one end to the other. This was 45 minutes early, too, btw. So, we wait in line for a good half hour or so, then it finally starts to move. The ushers tell everybody to sit in the middle, so that nobody has to climb over everybody else to find a seat. "And if you don't sit in the middle, we WILL make you move." (We sat on the side, where it's only a pair of rows since there was two of us. That way, there wasn't any empty seats beside us, thus we wouldn't have to move, and we wouldn't have to sit beside anybody else). There was even a park ranger there! xD I had a good laugh at that. He was the form of authority they had. They couldn't get a cop or a security guard, just a ranger. I bet he felt pretty badass. We get into a literally packed theater, sit down, and all the seats fill quickly. I mean, ALL the seats. The first thing I said was to my friend was,"It smells like Pinesol in here. I think somebody got so excited they threw up."
One thing, I was expecting the fangirls to be super annoying. Incredulously, they were not. They didn't scream, and there wasn't a single group of girls chatting it up the entire time, like you'd usually encounter in any given movie theater. I already knew where the first part was that Taylor took off his shirt (due to an interview on a late night show I watched recently), and I saw it coming. I told my friend,"It's about to get loud." because I expected a profuse amount of screaming and hyperventilating. What actually happened was, when he took his shirt off... everybody laughed. I don't know why they did, but I had to laugh, too, because I completely did not expect that reaction.
The other thing, I went into this movie, not expecting, but
wanting to hate it. And I'm sorry to say that I can't. It was surprisingly really good. It definitely does the book (and the franchise) justice. I thought the new director did a terrific job, and the acting wasn't as bad as it had been before. The werewolves were really well done, especially for CGI (and I hate CGI). Given the line was ridiculous, and we were stuck behind crazy-obessies in said line, I must say, the movie was pretty darn good.
